Healthy Food for Our Cats
Jul 15th, 2010 | Category: Healthy Cat FoodWe love our cats so much that many of us call them our children. We spoil them with treats, buy them lots of cat toys, and some people even dress them in cute little outfits. They are our best friends and they give us unconditional love. We spend a good amount on our cats every year when we take them in for their yearly veterinary visit. We do this because we want our cats to be healthy.
So, if we want our cats to be healthy, why do we feed them the equivalent of bad quality fast food every day? Why don’t we feed them healthy cat food? Most cat foods you buy in the grocery store are full of indigestible fats, sugars or corn syrup, and artificial coloring and/or flavor. Some commercial cat foods contain corn, wheat, or soy, all of which are know allergens for cats.
Would you consider feeding you or your children beaks, feet, feathers, and heads? That is what you are feeding your cats if you currently feed them grocery store foods. These are what are called by-products, which are usually close to the first ingredient listed in these foods.
So what is a loving cat owner to do? You should consider purchasing a healthy premium cat food. Read the ingredient list on the bag. Just as you buy food for your family, you don’t want to buy cat food that has a lot of ingredients that you can’t pronounce. Look for healthy cat foods that do not contain hormones, by-products, artificial colorings or flavorings, corn, wheat, or soy, and chemical preservatives. Why would you feed your cat something that you yourself would be unwilling to eat?
Next time you go to the grocery store, look at the ingredient list on the cat food you usually buy. See if that is something you would like to eat. The answer will most probably be no. Go to Life’s Abundance and buy your cat a human quality cat food. Your cat will thank you for it.
