Pet Name: Gizmo

Gizmo’s Story:
Gizmo was rescued from a puppy mill and weighing in at 1.6 oz, survived scabies, mange, and pnemonia, through the love and care of his mommy and the spruce creek animal clinic. Gizmo is now a 5lb very healthy, very happy, people loving pooch!

Pet Name: Chance

Chance’s Story:
I was fortunate to have Chance adopt me from the Southeast Volusia Humane Society seven and half years ago. They provided training and what an additional gift that was. Chance has provided so much joy in my life and that of my family, friends and even strangers we meet. Thank you Aunties at the SEVHS for helping me to find the best addition to my family, my sweet Chance. Chance love’s the beach and especially fishing, he’s going to catch that big one, one of these days. Until then he has fun trying.

Pet Name: Dallas, Cincy and Missy Nash

Dallas, Cincy and Missy Nash’s Story:
These three dog siblings are enjoying a beautiful day in their favorite place on a raft in the middle of the pool (true South Floridians). They are anxiously awaiting our fourth of July barbeque of hamburgers and hot dogs. Dallas, the big boy with brown spots, is our treasured cancer survivor who just completed an intense year of treatments. Just this morning, we learned from the doctor that he is in complete remission. Throughout Dallas’s treatments, his sisters, Cincy and Missy, provided him with much love and support. These three dogs bring so much joy and happiness to the Nash household.

Pet Name: Kitty

Kitty’s Story:
I was never much of a cat lover growing up. My best friend and her son had never been to the Humane Society before. I live right down the street from the HS. One day they came to visit so we decided to go and look at the pets. I went into the room with the cats and took one look at him and knew I had to have him. It truly was “love at first sight.” I also remember telling myself that I would never be the type of person who would dress up their cat in clothing. Well, that did not last long either. I was out getting pet food one day and saw these antlers and I could not resist. Well, they only stayed on long enough for me to get one picture but he sure did look cute. However, he did not look so happy! Kitty has been a great joy in my life and I am so thankfull to have him. I would encouage anyone to adopt a pet, it has been the best thing that I have done. You save a pets life and you have the opportunity to give them a better one as well.

Pet Name: Gremlin

Gremlin was a foster dog from a no kill shelter in Odgen, Canada where we volunteer,…he was in very poor health, we almost lost him the first night we had him at home, he had very little fur on his back and none on his belly, infected teeth and gums, but now with lots of vet care, good food, and of course lots of love he has come alive again…we have now adopted him, and promise to make the rest of his life happy and worry free! This is a picture of him on Vacation this past March in Florida, and of course his hat came from Silly Willie’s!
